And this afternoon an unusual 4.6 Magnitude Quake in Trinidad, Colorado.
Then on Tuesday August 23rd. with the Sun entering Virgo
After the 5.3 Magnitude quake in Colorado last night we shouldn't have any doubts that seismic activity has increased along the 37th Latitude from Mineral VA
to Trinidad, CO to Mammoth Lakes, CA to the San Francisco Bay Area particularly San Leandro,CA.
All of this is happening in synch with Mars-Saturn square(exact on Aug. 25th) - in fact a chart set for time of the quake @ 1:51:04 PM at epicenter.
Scorpio was rising so Mars (ancient ruler) was in charge an posited in the 8th house with a TSQ to Saturn and Pluto
Virgo Sun-Venus at Mid-Heaven with a powerful opposition to Chiron and Neptune.

when the 5.8 Magnitude Quake struck in Mineral, VA. with the Outer Wheel representing
the July 4, 1776 Sibley Chart. Transiting Saturn is in an almost exact conjunction with natal Saturn (14Libra48) for 8th historic Saturn return with the US Foundation Chart. FYI the exact return time is August 28, 2011 @ 3:58 AM EDT
We can see that Mars is also in play closely conjunct the US Sun @ 13 Cancer. Sun-Mars together are usually factors representing courage, dynamic and assertive leadership... but in this case it is about self-destruction and defensive attitudes.
Saturn returns in natal charts can be about review and accountability in this mundane chart the principle of Saturn will still represent limitations and structure but can also signify conflicts with authority, inflexibility, strangling & suppression of the vital living impulses which made this country great.

Now as I finish this blog report on Aug. 24th. the word just came in that a strong earthquake hit northern Peru near Brazil
"LIMA, Peru (AP) — A strong but deep earthquake shook a sparsely populated northern jungle region on Wednesday and was felt mildly in the capital. There were no reports of damage or injuries."
The USGS has raised the magnitude from a preliminary 6.8 to 7.0 Magnitude striking on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 12:46:11 PM at epicenter
We are in it now and there are no doubt that more and large earthquakes will be
arriving as we head toward the Virgo New Moon on August 28th @ 8:04 PM PDT or 11:04 PM EDT. Virgo is referred to as a "mutable-shifting" earth sign for plenty of good reason! Stay Alert....
