Annual Solar Eclipse Jan. 15, 2010 - Part I

The Longest Lasting Eclipse Since 1992 (When Neptune-Uranus were together in Capricorn)

After the New Years Eve Blue Moon Eclipse are we ready for this "Annular Eclipse of the Sun"coming on January 15th? This solar eclipse will last for about 11 minutes and eight seconds. Looking back at last summers momentous eclipse on July 22, 2009, which lasted as long as 6 minutes and 39 seconds in some places, this January lunation takes forever. This is the longest lasting solar eclipse since the annular solar eclipse on January 4, 1992, which had lasted for about 11 minutes and 41 seconds. This duration will not be equalled or exceeded until the annular solar eclipse of December 23, 3043, which is 1033 years ahead of 2010!
More facts: It will visible as a partial eclipse in much of Africa, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia. It will be seen as annular within a narrow stretch of 300 km width . (An annular eclipse is when the Sun and Moon are exactly in line, but the apparent size of the Moon is smaller than that of the Sun.) This narrow visibility will be across Central Africa, Maldives, South Kerala, South Tamil Nadu, North Sri Lanka, Burma and China.

A New Family of Eclipses Completes This Cycle

This Last Blue Moon was from this Family of Eclipses: 12 North from Saros Series 115

Last summer's trio of eclipses (July 7 - July 22 - Aug. 6) with the family of 11 South were all about sudden reforms, old systems that fail and sudden blocks being violently removed.

The new family of 12 North is about opportunities that come out of crisis. (Sometimes the crisis are manufactured by people other times by
Mother Nature).

"Opportunities to accept greater responsibilities come suddenly into a person's life. These new commitments will most likely come as a result of another individual unable to to carry on. Although the events which herald this opportunities might be difficult, the outcomes in terms of harmony and self esteem are good."

This Solar Annular Eclipse occurs late on Jan. 14, 2010 @ 11:07 PST or
on Jan. 15, 2010 @ 2:07 PM EST. The chart below is set for @ 7:07:39 UT time of maximum eclipse:

This eclipse on January 15, 2010 is from the same family 12 North where ambitions, opportunities
and where many Capricorn themes play out with Sun-Moon @ 25 degrees 01 minutes Capricorn.

Sabian Symbol: A water sprite or "A radiant sprite kneels by a hole in a rock where a lake is emptying into a waterfall. Far below
she observes the sordid but strangely attractive world of human passions. "

Another place where this "strangely attractive world" of passions plays out is Mars now retrograde in Leo @ 15 degrees which is considered a malefic placement.
15 degrees of Leo is one of the worst degrees in the zodiac. Either natally or in prediction. It is prominent in the charts of serial killers, felons serving life sentences, hard luck, maniacal politicians... In the chart above Mars is not only contraparallel the Sun & Mercury showing the drumbeat and media manipulations pushing war war but is square Pallas in Scorpio near MidHeaven . Pallas-Mars in hard aspect deal with blockage of creative and sexual expression which will also play out in strangely repressive fashion.
