Notes on a Pandemic or Massive Hysteria?

This Aporkcalypse isn't like the 1918 Pandemic





















Just yesterday on April 29th with Moon in defensive Cancer square both Mars and Pallas (asteroid dealing with political
strategy) the World Health Organization raised the swine flu pandemic alert level to phase 5. As the media and other scare and doom websites want you to note that this is just one step below the highest level. The decision came as the number of countries with confirmed cases rises to at least 10.

Another severe emotional reaction yesterday was the news that Egyptian authorities began slaughtering the roughly 300,000 pigs in their country Wednesday. This action reflects the continuing Venus square Pluto (forced cooperation by authorities) and was supposedly a precaution against swine flu even though no cases have been reported in Egypt. Of course this infuriated farmers who resisted the move and demanded compensation.

When we look at the definition of a pandemic, we see the origins are from Greek words pan all + demos people. Thus a pandemic is an epidemic of infectious disease that spreads through populations across a large region; for instance a continent, or even worldwide. Hysteria on the other hand, in its colloquial use, describes a state of mind, one of unmanageable fear or emotional excesses.

Neptune is a planet which destroys boundaries and personifies the unrealistic, utopian ideals along with collective hysterical tendencies. With upcoming Jupiter conjunction on May 27th a massive expansion of these qualities. Now that Chiron that maverick, trickster and wounded healer is in on the mix there has been increasing fears of a might epidemic encompassing the globe literally limitless in scope. The phrase mass hysteria to describe mass public near-panic reactions. It is commonly applied to the waves of popular medical problems that "everyone gets" in response to news articles.

There has also been lots of chatter on the increasing seriousness of our current H1N1 swine flu being compared to the
1918 flu pandemic (commonly referred to as the Spanish flu). The deadly Spanish influenza was a tru pandemic that spread to nearly every part of the world. estimated that anywhere from 20 to 100 million people were killed worldwide,[3] or the approximate equivalent of one third of the population of Europe,
The Chart Below for the first discovery of the Spanish flu in the United States the disease was first observed at Fort Riley, Kansas, United States, on March 4, 1918.
(As I will show below our current swine flu outbreak is not even close to the deadly Spanish influenza disaster)



Chiron/Pluto in the Mix with 1918 Spanish Flu
A striking aspect to the chart above that Mercury-Hygeia (asteroid of health)-Sun-Juno-Chiron are together in Pisces ruled by Neptune and Jupiter. Chiron @ 28 degrees Pisces leads this confluence of Piscean planets and is part of a deadly, mutable cross opposing Mars which was retrograde @ 27 Virgo and TSQ the Moon's Nodes in Sagittarius and Gemini also at 28 degrees. Also Saturn and Neptune were traveling together in the early degrees of Leo putting them into continuing difficult aspects to inner planets in Taurus and eventually Saturn direct was square Uranus retrograde around September 1918.
Those Pisces planets and asteroids were moving toward a conjunction with Chiron then translated the light and moved into Aries while Chiron followed suit around April 1st 1918 and moved in to Aries. Chiron in Aries was applying to a square with Pluto which at that time was around 3 degrees Cancer (cardinal energies mean swift action).
Tracking this horrible epidemic right after World War I we find that Mars (always a trigger when it comes to vital energy-health) moving into Cardinal Libra on June 24th and TSQ both Chiron and Pluto!
Even today with this breaking epidemic, we have Venus-Mars in orb of a square to Pluto now in Capricorn putting more power into the the hands of the elite, government then the time of the Spanish influenza. The 1918-1920 pandemic had outer planets continually reusing the serious energies from outer planets like Pluto and Uranus (similar to what is coming in 2010) except that Chiron's influence was felt in a more dynamic, active way back in 1918. Today's wounded healer is more involved in social justice and redress of grievances with Chiron in Aquarius till March 2011.



Swine Flu vintage 2009: Hysteria and oppression prevails over real danger...

Back to 2009, looking at the chart for April 24th's New Moon in Taurus set for Mexico City (largest city on the planet) and ground zero for this contagious nightmare - we see
Saturn (lockdown-constriction) right at Mid-Heaven. Saturn now retrograde and ready to turn direct on May 15th is @ 15 Virgo at the top of the chart opposing Juno in Pisces.
This opposition tells of obstacles in relationships, feelings of oppression and frustration. Uranus the planet of the unexpected and rebellion is in the 4th house at an angle near Venus-Mars both in early Aries intercepted - note that Uranus once in power it can be totalitarian and autocratic. The Mexican government immediately began to impose draconian restrictions on the people. The 4th house of this chart below signifies the foundation or base of the society plus it reflects the people versus the government.
My prediction is that as we continue to approach the May 27th Jupiter-Neptune conjunction and Uranus mutual reception, many of the magnified fears will dissolve as less and less cases are found.
In fact today, Mexico is starting to see a decline in a new flu cases.
Mexico's Health Minister Jose Angel Cordova on Thursday evening said there are early signs of a decline in suspected new cases of a deadly influenza virus that has claimed 12 lives. with Neptune leading the triple conjunction of Jupiter and Chiron, the biggest danger is mass hysteria and collective fears not the new "souped up" Influenza A (H1N1) strain. Martial law is a greater danger then multiple mortality.
