On the Gregorian date July 31, 2011 the long awaited Fifth Day and 9th Heaven of the Unity Wave begins. This 18 day period lasting till Aug. 17th is ruled by Quetzalcoal, the Aztec God most aligned with Christ Consciousness. Day five opened right after a hopeful Leo New Moon and marks the budding phase of a new unified consciousness. In true synchronization with the fiery Leo Moon, July 31st initiated

Awakening might be a better term than budding but during this 5th Day ruled by the Aztec God - Quetzalcoatl or the "plumed serpent" of course we still are in a budding period - an early stage of development showing promise or potential for total transformation. say that Day 5 will be about taming the Lion which represents all subhuman energies and potent subhuman expressions of this cosmic force. In the B.O.T.A. version below the woman (who represents Primal Will) opens the mouth of the Lion to articulate adding speech to wild forces which seem destructive. This is about being a partner with nature not a dominant figure filled with religious hubris. During the Fifth Day the doctrine "Dominionism" the will meet reform in the form of Quetzalcoatl and the 9th wave.

Serpent Power/Kundalini
Kundalini is deep, instinctive force Shakti and is said to lie coiled at the base of the spine to unleash a type 'serpent power'. And it will be this "serpent power" which will lead to a sort of collective enlightenment.

start of the next 18 phase of the Mayan Calendar: the 5th Day/9th Heaven (July 31 to Aug. 17th) Instead of putting focus on the advent of the Fifth Day/9th Heaven ruled by the "feathered-serpent" or earth changes including volcanoes - I will describe the New Moon over DC with Fixed Stars. The focus will be this portal lunation over DC and the Fixed starts.

Washington, DC. and Scorpio is rising symbolizing the debt crisis.

The Sun-Moon-Venus in dramatic Leo are all posited in the 9th house which is connected to foreign relations. In mundane
astrology the 9th house also relates to the ecclesiastical and legal professions. Let's take a minute and run thru the list of keywords for the 9th house: religious affairs the church, justice, lawyers, higher education, overseas, and publishing.
Undoubtedly all of these will be involved in the next two weeks but I get the distinct impression that foreign debtors might top the list. Mercury sits right on the Mid-Heaven (executive branch) while the Regulus the heart of the Leo Constellation conjuncts Mercury the messenger.

Fixed Stars over DC
With the Heliacal Rising Star there are two resonating with Mars in Gemini.

Even before the 4th Day/7th Heaven completes on July 12th, we are starting to see
evidence of the God Tlaloc taking over the next 18 day period in the Mayan Universal Underworld. Since June 25th the Maize God Cinteotl has reigned along with the fertile sign of Cancer. Tlaloc, will also be connected to the Cancer transits particularly Venus which squares Saturn on the start of the 4th Night on July 13th. This cooling and limiting transit Venus-Saturn is already having a reactive backlash with the economy. Tlaloc was a god of blessed rain, fertility, and water which added to the growth of the corn representing sustenance. But Tlaloc had fierce side being both the lord of rain and war who would send down hail, thunder and lightning. Notice that he is depicted above with fish like goggle eyes and fangs. Tlaloc was also connected to the deeper parts of earth and the resulting harvest.

Tlaloc was revered and feared by both the Aztecs and Mayans. He even had his own mountain named after him, located east of Mexico City. Its height is 13,615 ft. (4,151 metres).

Tlaloc ruled the fourth layer of this 'Upper World" part of the heavens, which is called Tlalocan ("place of Tlaloc"). It seems like many of the Aztec gods ruling the night/darkness period, Tlaloc was associated with the watery world of the dead, and with the earth.
