A Full Moon Serenade of Comets, Catastrophes and Wonders

The Full Moon in November was known by the Algonquin tribes from New England to Lake Superior as the Full Fox or Full Beaver Moon because it was the time to set traps, before the waters froze over, making it impossible. This Moon was also called the Full Frost Moon. Tomorrow's Full Moon occurs in Taurus @ 25 degrees 26 minutes is a culmination to some of extent of the forces conjured up on the last New Moon Hybrid Eclipse in Scorpio on November 3rd. when many secrets come out of the darkness. Looking at the Sabian Symbol for 26 degrees Taurus: "A Spaniard serenading his Senorita." this image evokes scenes of a man strumming a guitar and signing and reciting love poetry in order to sway and influence his chosen soul mate into falling in love. Of course there are deeper meanings here like having our voices heard when speaking from the heart amid resistance. This symbol speaks to the idea of whether we should believe the messages thrown out at us or those tales and lies spun from a place of insincerity.


Astrologically It has been a wild two weeks with Massive Super Typhoon Haiyan bringing scenes of destruction and an ever increasing death toll to the Philippines. The Sun has been active continuing erupting with X-Class flares like the X-3 on November 5th. which came from monster sunspot AR189. Thrown into the mix resonating with the Grand Earth Trine was even another house swallowed up by a sinkhole in Florida on Thursday, November 14th. Not to be outdone Comet ISON is being seen by the naked eye and is now fully 10 times brighter than it was only three days ago before the outburst on November 14th. Comets have always been considered omens of events to come."Until the sixteenth century, comets were usually considered bad omens of deaths of kings or noble men, or coming catastrophes, or even interpreted as attacks by heavenly beings against terrestrial inhabitants." NOW on this Full Moon, with Comets Lovejoy, Encke and Linear X1 all wandering in our solar system, there could be multiple omens and strange activity. Scorpio is a sign that is always immersed in some kind of mystery and with Mercury conjunct the N. Node of destiny, heading toward another meeting with Saturn (Nov. 25th. ) and the Sun @ 26 degrees Scorpio, we are in enigmatic and inexplicable times. The Sabian Symbol for 26 degrees Scorpio: "Indians making camp in new territory." which relates to having to acclimatize to new surroundings amid a certain unease. There is also a sense of excitement dredging up the pioneering spirit. Right in synch with this perplexing experience, even scientists are in a quandary as to what Comet 2012

We are now firmly vibrating on the axis of symbolized by Horned Cow or Bull's Head and the Death Sting of the Scorpion on the other. The desire body is strong for this lunation as we traverse the cosmic principles of the 2nd Archetype per attachment or possession per indulgence and even decadence on one side of the zodiac. On the other side known the principle of transformation with the need for regeneration and renewal via sexuality.
Venus ruler of this amazing Full Moon is still Out of Bounds (OOB) via declination and separating from a conjunction with Pluto adding to the power of erotic love.  Venus in this extreme transit OOB favors super strong women who are leading many of the movements toward radical shifts in our culture since Venus is applying to a trine with Mars.  Once such radical shift happened in Spain where Topless women disrupt anti-abortion rally in in downtown Madrid. Venus is also sextile Saturn in the sign of taboo breaking, Scorpio and can mean that in business settlements are reached along with solutions to problems that will emerge suddenly. 

Unless we forget we are in a time when upheaval and collapse bring new ideas, events and even new lands appearing in the oceans. Once again on this fixed, earthy Full Moon,  seismic acitivy will be off the charts like the ongoing quakes near the Continental Shelf in the Scotia Sea. 

Spica, Mirach, Algol and other Fixed Stars.
Comet ISON will be near fixed star Spica found in Virgo around the Full Moon. Spica refers to a special gift or talent which will be highlighted at this time. In DC. the Heliacal Setting Star is Mirach found in the constellation Andromeda. At both DC and San Francisco, the Heliacal Rising Stars are Spica some 152 minutes before sunrise. Wanting to use one's talents for the greatest possible good. In DC. the Heliacal Setting Star is Mirach found in the constellation Andromeda. Mirach is the principle of receptivity and feminine power. With Mirach, diplomacy can get you everywhere as in  using rapport and consensus as a personal life philosophy. Sunday's Full Moon in Taurus falls near the demon star, Algol whether we are on the West Coast or in Washington, DC. Legend tells of how brave Perseus killed the sea monster, Cetus by turning it to stone with the Medusa's Head (Algol) Yes Algol, the demon head is near the Full Frosty or Beaver Moon per native American Indians. The fixed star Algol was named Tseih She by the Chinese which translated to Piled-up corpses. According to the national disaster agency the Philippines, the death count from Typhoon Haiyan is overwhelming and has been raised to 3,633.

On the West Coast, the stars found on the immediate angles are appear more aligned with the power of this Full Moon. First Rigel found in the in the left foot of the Hunter - Orion which is setting at the Descendant and known to want to enforce structure to groups, which can lead to a righteous and overbearing attitude.  We also have Ras Alhague on the head of the Snake Charmer, Ophiuchus - Rising at the Ascendant.  Ophiuchus adds to the theme of this Year of the Water Serpent and to direct healing. This star is also said to be pro-active in seeking change.  Older astrologers like Robson and Ebertin tend to connect Ras Alhague to  misfortune through women or even  perverted tastes and mental depravity.  In fact Elsbeth Ebertin says with  Ras Alhague there  is danger of insect bites, snakebites or assault from infuriated animals or rabies smitten dogs. Ebertin does go on to say though: Besides the lower emanations, there are supposedly higher influences attributed to this star - I tend to believe that the powers of Ras Alhague can promote a widespread social healing that which has been damaged.  Also we see that on the West Coast (chart below set for San Francisco where Scorpio is rising) that Aculeus, an open cluster of stars above the stinger of the Scorpion, is closely culminating as Mars is Setting. Aculeus along with Acumen also found in the constellation Scorpio,  have a notorious reputation in astrology as 'blind stars' or stars associated with eyesight problems  With Aculeus and Mars in paran we may see that frequent hardships encountered by those who are  pursuing their dreams will make the news. Acubens, found on the left arm-socket of the Crab, Cancer  is culminating closely as Mercury is Rising.  Acubens with Mercury will help us explore the diversity and mystery of life on a social and physical basis. Scorpio is rising @ 29 degrees in the chart below set for San Francisco, CA. with this interesting Sabian Symbol: "Children in Halloween costumes engaging in various pranks."  This directly relates to disruptive energies even vandalism. which will battle the establishment or not respect the boundaries of others.  Since the ascendant is in a TSquare to Neptune and Pallas in Virgo relating to  hallucinations and weird psychic phenomena, don't believe everything you see and hear. This Sabian should  play out after the moon enters Gemini @ 4:07 PM Pacific watch for a major hoax or prank to reflect the confusion or emotional hysteria which could ensue.

In the chart below set for the nation's capitol, we see how the mythic female passion and obsession of Medusa,Kali and Female Kundalini the Moon is positioned in the Fifth House relating to: theatre, arts, places of entertainment, sports events, children, games of chance, speculative interests, linked to Stock Exchange,  All of the preceding will host extreme events on many levels.  Also in regards to other fixed stars,  Zosma, found near the tail of the Lion/Leo,  is rising closely as the  Moon is Culminating.  Zosma is a star directly linked to victimization and all sorts by attacks.  These encompass actions where the perpetrator(s) actually enjoys seeing others suffer. According to Robson: "it causes benefit by disgrace, selfishness, egotism, immorality, meanness, melancholy, unhappiness of mind and fear of poison, and gives an unreasonable, shameless and egotistical nature"   With this full moon threatening to bring more scandals, revelations and even lies we should be watchful as to where the tales come but also use our abilities to discern the truth from falsehoods. Castor is the great story teller who will incorporate the shadow or dark side of the tale.  Castor when under the influence of Jupiter can be an amazing negotiator in bringing successful resolutions. Let me add that  this combo will place emphasis on philosophical and occult interests, more  speculation travel along with legal  judicial sentences involving high profile trials. 

Some Days are a Little Crazier - A Neptune Station, Venus OOB Square Moon-Uranus in Aries

When I started writing my forecast for today, the 13th. of November 2013, I knew that the impulsive Aries Moon would keep this day humming with excitement. But I had no idea how these energies would mix with Neptune making it's yearly station direct. Neptune or Poseidon, god of the seas, earthquakes and fertility who stationed to move direct this morning @ 10:43 AM. Pacific Time. I even referenced that that Poseidon's movement might even result in sudden earthquakes today. In fact just ahead of the Neptune station @ 9:30:30 AM Pacific
Another quake this time 3.4 magnitude strkes in San, Ramon, California Actually this tremor over in San Ramon, where the big AT&T call center is located, was just an inkling of some of the seismic shocks to come in the next few days.

Neptune will remain direct in Pisces till June 2014. The last time this planet stationed was June 7. 2013 marking the last retrograde period. Usually when retrograde, Neptune can inspire or perceptions to become more acute with heightened psychic sensitivity. When Neptune is direct the principles of dissolving boundaries and redemption are particularly strong. On the other hand when Neptune turns direct, denial can be greater, thus it is important that we deal with any problems that we pick up while Neptune is retrograde Neptune direct emphasizes our longing to merge with the divine, experience true spirituality, mystical events, more compassion and intuitive understanding. From another perspective, this is a planet related to delusions, even insanity. Neptune's stations @ 3 degrees Pisces where he is dignified. The Sabian Symbol for this degree: "A petrified forest, an eternal record of life lived long ago." This symbol relates to an agelessness and resilience along a time when we look toward records of the past even tuning in to the Akashic records. There is also a tendency to feel lonely and lost as in a giant forest. At three degrees Pisces, there can be a growing desire to find our true self instead of being lost midst of a deep forest. We may feel a strong motivation to re-establish a sense of identity, position and character before making the journey thru the "dark forest". This Neptune station is  an opportune time to pursue meditation, prayer, holistic practices like yoga which refine and deepen whole body-mind awareness.

The Healing Side of Neptune Since Neptune is traveling with Chiron, the wounded healer also  in Pisces. Both celestial bodies add to a  Grand Water Trine there is an emphasis on all kinds of healing. (Note that Chiron also stations on November 19th. to move forward)Neptune now in the sign of the two fishes helps with  energetic and psychic healing and can alleviate depression in many cases. The Mars-Venus trine in earth signs helps this manifest in the areas of fertility and virility.Mars now in Virgo is also in a positive 60 degree angle to Jupiter in Cancer adding to confidence for both sexes
along with fertility.
These combinations aided by a highly motivated Aries Moon,  large and small scale cleaning projects are favored. 

Venus, which is the lower octave of Neptune and  relates to women and feminine issues is both square Uranus for the unexpected and viral trend along with being Out of Bounds via declination. This of course is can trigger extreme actions.

I have created a chart using Heliocentric settings for 6:37 PM Pacific Time in San Francisco Gemini is rising with Jupiter intercepted in the first house putting mega focus on interior affairs, urban population, domestic affairs, general conditions, Jupiter(Cancer) is in a close and potent opposition with Pluto(Capricorn) also at an angle in the 7th house - this combination is one of the most profound. Note that Uranus-Venus are at the top of the chart in Aries relating to the Sun's activity and are in a TSQ with Pluto/Jupiter all in cardinal active, pivotal signs
Topping this off is that Mars in Heliocentric Leo (also relating to the Sun and Solar Eruptions) is in a square with Saturn in the intense sign of Scorpio. Chart pictured below.

Update November 13th. More Powerful Solar Flares Expected
From Spaceweather.com: Two large, complex sunspots are transiting the Earthside of the sun with mixed-polarity magnetic fields that harbor energy for strong eruptions.
NOAA forecasters estimate a 60% chance of M-class flares and a 30% chance of X-flares during the next 24 hours. Flares from AR1890 could be particularly geoeffective. Because of the way the sun's magnetic field spirals through interplanetary space, AR1890 is magnetically connected to our planet. Particles accelerated by an explosion there would be guided in our direction, possibly causing a radiation storm around Earth. The next big flare will probably come from one of these two circled regions which includs new monster sunsport AR1897:

The Astrology of Super Typhoon Haiyan

SUPER STORM HAIYAN UPDATE- A RECORD BREAKERI mentioned in my last blog article describing Sunday's Hybrid Eclipse that that another Super Typhoon named Yolanda is bearing down on the Philippines with maximum winds of 115 kph and gusts of up to 146 kph and could make landfall on Friday November 8th.

It turned out that when this Massive Typhoon Haiyan or Yolanda made landfall on November 8th.,  winds were at 315 kph gusting to 380 kph. Let's take a look at what happened today has Haiyan made landfall. Super Typhoon Haiyan Makes Landfall On Philippines "Typhoon 'Yolanda' has made landfall over Guiuan, Eastern Samar

Super Typhoon Haiyan has made landfall. According to PAGASA, Haiyan came ashore at 4:40 am local time (20:40 UTC) November 7, 2013 near Guiuan, on the Philippine island of Samar. 

CNN called Haiyan based on the wind, if the system did not weaken at landfall - Typhoon Haiyan is the Strongest Tropical System Ever Making Landfall Anywhere in the World

Meteorologist Eric Holthaus  says that Yolanda—its Filipino name—beats “Wilma (2005) in intensity by 5mph—that was the strongest storm ever in the Atlantic,” which makes it a member of the select club of Worst Storms Ever in the Planet. Only three other storms since 1969 have reached this intensity.


An Astrological Chart set for 4:40 a.m. local time in Guiuan, Eastern Samar Found Below has Scorpio is rising @ 3 degrees along side Mercury and N. Node with Sun-Saturn also in "Extreme Scorpio". Using the principles of Astrometeorology, we see in weather charts that Scorpio is
a sign that intensifies the action of the rest of the chart and ever fails to bring an extreme.
 Thus Mercury-N. Node of destiny are opposing S. Node/Hygeia in Taurus (potential health problems from storm) in the 7th.  Mercury rising governs the wind from gentle breezes to hurricane-force winds all which can be found under Mercury's domain. Sustained winds that were measured at more than 195 miles per hour before landfall. The measurement reflects the winds sustained by the storm for one minute; the storm was also producing gusts of 230 mph.

 Rulers of this landfall chart (Scorpio rising) are Mars and Pluto. Pluto is in the 3rd. house relating to Mercury and is found between the Moon and Venus. Mars is at a significant angle in the 11th. house in Virgo relating to Mercury and Winds.
Pluto and Mars both connect to violent, extremes, severe and intense conditions depending on other chart indications
Also with Astrometeorology,  50% of the overall prevailing conditions are described by the planets in the 4th house, their sign and the aspects - Aquarius is on the 4th. House cusp @ critical zero degrees. with Juno the weather asteroid, which besides relationships and marriage is associated with the atmosphere and storms is now TSQUARE the moons nodes and Mercury in Scorpio. Juno is posited at Ground Zero (4th. house)
Neptune/Chiron in Pisces are on the 5th. house cusp elating to freakish weather events, torrential downpours and flooding conditions!
They enter 4th. house in less than an hour, as Typhoon Haiyan moving West across the islands. Below is a Tracking Model:

Aquarius and ruler Uranus connect to the IC and are known for shocking and unexpected results and first time events. Uranus is also associated with high barometer and mega-high wind velocities (from 315 kph gusting to 380 kph) can be found under its influence The astrological ruler of the IC is Uranus, which is now in a square to Venus and Pluto both in Capricorn known or severe storms. Any contact with Uranus adds maximum record breaking, unexpected and destructive conditions.

An analysis of a storm or this magnitude, which has broken all scientific intensity scales, 
wouldn't be complete unless we looked at an astrological chart for the last major ingress, 
the Hybrid Solar Eclipse on November 3rd. The Chart below is set for 8:50 PM AWST -8:00 in Guiuan, Eastern Samar with Cancer Rising and in an opposition to Pluto in the 7th.

 When looking at an ingress chart, like this Scorpio New Moon, we examine the planets which rule the 1st and 4th house and consider their signs and aspects. Since Cancer is rising so the chart's ruler is the Moon. The Moon of course is new being conjunct the Sun in Scorpio and in a tight grouping in Scorpio are considered the most powerful aspect of all.As I said above, Scorpio tends to intensify the action of the rest of the chart and always adds extreme weather.  In season, the Sun-Mercury conjunctions often coincide with the formation of tropical storm systems and hurricanes.  Next we look at the 4th. house or sign cusp on the IC, which rates as 50% of the overall prevailing conditions of this weather chart.   Since Pluto is the ruler of that Scorpio stellium, we already know that violent, extreme, severe and super  intense conditions could follow. Libra is on the cusp of the 4th. house and ruler Venus which represents a moist influence tending to lower the barometer is now applying to a conjunction with Pluto, Venus as I mentioned is also heading toward a definitely dangerous square with Pluto in the 7th. 1/8 is found in the 10th and 7th houses and at the top of the chart sits the most unstable planet Uranus still in orb of that historic 4th passage of another wild square to Pluto (Nov. 1st). The ruler of the 10th house in this chart, and of Aries, is Mars now found in the 3rd. Mars is in an opposition to Neptune and Chiron (wounded healer) both in Pisces and which will trigger  torrential downpours and flooding conditions. Consider that the 11th house also has Vesta in Virgo putting the focal point back on Mercury now retrograde in Scorpio which is  square both Juno (Aquarius) and the S. Node.  Notice too that Ceres has recently entered Libra (Ceres is more involved with food and nurturing ) and is opposing Uranus so hopefully we will see a just outpouring of help to the Philippines once this storm has passed.

It has been said that Solar Eclipses create effects that are felt more externally or all around us and lunar eclipses are internal and experienced via inner emotions. Of course there are other factors which defy this pat explanation. Eclipses come in pairs and to the astronomer are judged by the outer visibility. The last Lunar Eclipse on October 18th was considered a minor event since you had to look closely so as not to miss it. This his penumbral lunar eclipse is known as a Full Hunter's Moon which passed through the edge (penumbra) of the Earth’s shadow just after moonrise on the East Coast of North America. The western part of the Philippines (including western Luzon and Palawan) saw this penumbral eclipse at moon set. Two days before this eclipse, the a massively dangerous quake hit the Bohol region of the Philippines killing 222 peopleand causing upwards of 4 billion dollars in damage. That and successive quakes in Taiwan, Chile and off the coast of Honshu where anything but minor. In fact fast forwarding to November 6th. we see that another Super Typhoon named Yolanda is bearing down on the Philippines with maximum winds of 115 kph and gusts of up to 146 kph and could make landfall on Friday November 8th. with the Moon entering the sign of shocking/sudden events. The solar eclipse which happened Sunday, November 3rd. was the type of event which eclipse chasers don't bother chasing because was of such a short duration in some places lasting only a matter of second.  Hybrid Eclipse
So on November 3, 2013 @ 4:50 AM PT or 7:50 AM ET, a new moon in Scorpio occurred along with a Solar Eclipse. This was not your ordinary new moon solar eclipse, it was a hybrid eclipse of the Sun with a magnitude of 1.0159. A "hybrid eclipse": shifts between a total eclipse (when the Moon completely obscures the bright light of the Sun forming a corona) and an annular eclipse (when the Sun and Moon are exactly in line, but the apparent size of the Moon is smaller than that of the Sun).
At certain points on the surface of Earth it appears as a total eclipse, whereas at other points it appears as annular. Hybrid eclipses are comparatively rare The totality of this eclipse will be visible from the northern Atlantic Ocean (east of Florida) to Africa (Gabon (landfall), R. Congo, DR Congo, Uganda), with maximum of 1 minute and 39 seconds visible from the Atlantic Ocean south of Ivory Coast and Ghana. Already in the Congo,  there is a sudden hope for peace. since Congolese rebels surrendered on Tuesday to end a bloody 20-month uprising offering tentative hopes of peace in one of the world's deadliest conflicts. This family of eclipses is known for "sudden, unexpected releases of energies from the collective unconscious  which can provide insight in order to solve ongoing problems that have festered for years."

Earth Shadows Fall on a Full Hunter's Moon in Explosive Aries

On Friday October 18th. A FULL HUNTER'S MOON/LUNAR ECLIPSE IN EXPLOSIVE ARIES occurs. Even though the view of this eclipse may not be dramatic for astronomers, the inner and outer effects will be memorable. The Scales Weigh Toward Passion and Magenta on Libra New Moon Oct. 4, 2013

On the cusp of scale tipping and heavily unbalanced New Moon in Libra, the upheaval and volatility has become the new normal. Instead of waxing about the beauty of natures harmony radiant in the light of autumn, I am going to speak of the sheer intensity and power that accompanies this lunation. Of course justice, high profile trials, elements of fashion and romance will make news but there is more an element of Mars and the warrior present than Aphrodite. To illustrate the power and emotional ramifications what is coming in the next couple of weeks, let's turn to Spaceweather and to  how on October 2nd, a CME hit Earth's magnetic field, sparking a G2-class geomagnetic storm.   Fixed Stars on this New Moon by Paran In the chart set for tomorrow October 4th. @ 8:34 PM in Washington, DC. Looking first at some important fixed stars we see that Alcyone, the central adn largest star of the Pleiades or Seven Sisters is rising at the Ascendant. Alcyone rising relates to not just visionary skills and judgemental attitudes but to eye problems like blindness or injuries to the eyes and face. Alycyone rising per Robson also represents disgrace, wounds, stabs even imprisonment, sickness or quarrels and violent consequences. Alcyone is also connected to major fires. Alkes is the Heliacal Rising Star not just for DC but(also over the West Coast. Alkes found in the base of the Cup or Crater Constellation. Alkes represents the principle of carrying something precious and has a prophetic and mystical quality. Another interesting thing about Crater is that it is associated with the Roman Bacchus who is identified with Greek Dionysus. Scheat is known to be prominent during natural disasters including floods - this is a warning. Per Elsbeth Ebertin. Scheat when mixed with malefics by transit, could mean that the native might lose his life in catastrophes, such as floods, shipwreck, mining accidents, airplane accidents, or maybe suicide. Venus is transiting in Scorpio The female motorist's black Infiniti, according to authorities on Thursday afternoon,struck a security barrier and a U.S. Secret Service officer near the White House before hurtling down some of the capital's most famous streets, In other words a 35 year old woman and 1 year old child virtually "terrorized" the White House and put them on temporary lockdown and she didn't even have a gun!   - pretty weird  stuff . With the Sun applying to in a 90 degree angle to the Jupiter in Cancer (exact on October 12th.) there are not only moral conflicts but major distortions of the truth. In fact Venus is in a contra parallel or opposing aspect to Jupiter adding to this time of lies.

Update for Friday Afternoon before the New Moon in DC, as a Man lit himself on fire at the National Mall. Authorities were called to the Mall on Friday afternoon to respond to reports that a man had set himself on fire. Mars is positioned in fiery Leo in the 4th. house of ground zero plus fixed star Zosma found in the back of the Nemean Lion and in the Leo constellation is conjunct Vesta - Zosma represents the principle of victimization relating to today's incident of Self immolation. Venus Void of Course relates to impulsive and passionate emotions that can precipitate risky acts. Venus is also the ruler of the Sun-Moon now conjunct in Libra @ 12 degrees Libra with this Symbol - "Miners emerging from a coal mine." which could actually refer to a mine disaster or explosion underground where workers are rescued.  This symbol does relate to the act of being transformed by coming into the light. This Sabian also can relate to secrets and revelations being unearthed and the opportunity to breathe clean air or alternately a gloomy outlook, breathing problems or even a depressed state.

Mercury-Saturn together in Scorpio can many times crystallize our perceptions which can enhance critical thinking but it also has a tendency to stir negative thinking, mental blocks and self-destructive thought. By the time the Sun enters Scorpio after the next Full Moon in Aries on October 18th. some mega events will have transpired from weather related to economic downturns. Look toward the First Qtr. Moon in Capricorn on October 11th. for some major events to transpire in the economic sector.  Already there are rumors that Banks are stuffing ATM's ahead of panicked withdrawals.
