Hindsight Conversation: Major Aspects for the Taurus New Moon

Of the four fixed signs, Taurus the Bull is considered the sign most connected to $ and his ruling planet Venus is not only linked to pleasure of the senses but to currency. Few would argue that the sign Taurus at times the most materialistic, possesive, decadent and the most prone to being attached to ownership. On thursday May 27th we began a new moon in Taurus where the lunation and the subsequent solar transits create a powerful venue for this sometimes lazy and often times productive stubborn attitude.
Thursday's lunation gifted us with combo of Major Aspects some Positive and Others Difficult and another not so often seen.
tight Yod - with the fingers of destiny pointing at the Apex an Ascendant @ 17*Virgo with Mercury @ 16* Aries and Neptune@ 19* Aquarius - the media colors communications around active fantasy with discrimation (represented by Virgo) offering the way to truth.

Chiron opp Saturn TSQ Sun and Moon Here the challenge of the disenfranchised and oppressed human community to have all the advantages of everyone else.
A Grand Trine is always the hallmark of creative energy in action.
Our Grand Water Trine is no exception with Mars in Cancer applying toward closest point of the trine with Jupiter in Scorpio and Uranus in Pisces on May 7th
Water Grand Trines seem to be the most intense, sensitive, feeling and if not caught in the depths of hysteria and emotionalism can help heal and nurture.
The thing about Grand Trines is that they are easy and flow toward our comfort zones - yes we can be creative in a sort of uncconcious manner not really grabbing our full mantle of destiny and making that extra effort to move forward.

Well along comes a Taurus Sun/Moon to add to that Grand Trine and create a Kite Formation. In this our lunation becomes the 4th planet or point in Opposition (180 degrees) Jupiter one of the triangle points and forms Sextile aspects (60 degrees) to Mars and Uranus (which can open the door to acts of courage and foolish accidents). This formation looks visually like a kite (hence its name). The stress of the Opposition aspect may increase the likelihood of the Grand Trine being utilized (not just taken for granted). Ain't that a kick, all that leisurely slow, scented candle sensuous Taurus energy is just enough to get the big Huelga, Strike, No Shop Day or whatever it is being called grounded into physicallity. Or could we also be seeing the duality of major defensiveness and stress about the Grand Water Trine energy?
On May 1st with Moon in tribal, sensitive Cancer, the $ machine called commerce and consumerism will have a pause just as the last new moon in Aries pushed everything to the forefront this lunation in Taurus will create a pause, a stop, taking some time out to smell the roses.

Ahmadinejad Goes Over the Top Again: This Time the Price of Oil

As the price of crude oil continues to make new highs soaring on the "blow off" aspect of Jupiter trine Uranus which will be exact on May 4th, stories about petroleum or Texas Tea become ubiquitous. In fact one day after Venus and Uranus met in Pisces, the sign ruling oil, oceans and the downtrodden masses the intense, master of hyperbole President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says that oil is under valued even at $72 + a barrel!
With Jupiter transiting his Sun and Neptune making for sometimes deluded announcements, Mahmoud has been a fixture in world news. Previously transiting Mars in Gemini made an exact opposition to Pluto @ 26 Sagittarius forming a T-SQ to his natal Jupiter/Venus conjunction in mutable Virgo on April 10th igniting Mahmoud's ability to be highly critical in his US bashing. With Pluto's continued retro. motion, this highly self-indulgent JU/VE energy becomes a criticism machine.
Maverick Chiron in his chart is closely opposed Uranus in Leo, setting him up for gradiose gestures that mask his own personal wounds dealing with past groups and associations. Soon on May 25th, an exact opposition to his natal Chiron will incite a time for him to to let go of emotional patterns which have prevented him from expressing his true self. What is that true self? If You Thought Aries Sun/Moon Meant Sun...
you were foiled again by the Uranus-Mercury conjunction in Pisces with the latest Mercury station on March 25, 2006. For those of us in the South Bay as in San Jose and Silicon Valley, the sun has vanished like shadows before the rain.
The Total Solar Eclipse in Aries didn't bring sunshine with the New Moon on March 29th only more precipitous.
After writing a long article about the Solar Eclipse coinciding with a Pluto Station at the Galactic Center, I began to dig into Astrometerology again. It is well known that eclipses correspond to powerful weather events but so do stations of planets whether direct or retrograde. It stands to reason that Pluto which always increases the intensity of whatever configuration exists would in the very least increase wind velocity. Well we got a double whammy when Mars continued to be in orb of a trine with rain producing Neptune on last Wednesday's eclipse and began moving toward an exact opposition to Pluto on April 11th.

Since the last full moon on 3-14-06, which incidentally was penumbral lunar eclipse, our weather conditions have been extreme. Today the first day of spring or the Aries Ingress, which incidentally is used to predict weather via Astrometerology brought thundershowers, torrential downpours and cold temperatures to the SF Bay Area where I live. Sunrise at 6:13AM with the last day of a waning deciminating moon seemed to indicate another sunny day like yesterday - not so. We here in the bay area having been literally swamped by rain this month, were skeptical and rightly so. By the time the Vernal Equinox begain at 10:26AM the rain was coming down in hard drops. Even the Galcactic energy is extreme with Pluto @ 26* 44' Sagittarius on the galactic plane/ecliptic. It appears that we are still in the grips of the extremes of the Lunar Eclipse with Chart Below.

Aries Ingres - More Intensity and Extremes
Today, March 20th, it wasn't just Northern and Central California that got cold winds, precipitation and inclement weather, just check the Midwest from South Dakota to Nebraska. A quick update has 25 inches of snow reported in central Nebraska, parts of South Dakota had up to 18 inches, northeast Colorado had at least a foot, northwest Kansas had up to 10 inches and parts of the Oklahoma Panhandle got half a foot. It doesn't appear that anything like a traditional spring has arrived.
Storm will move east since Jupiter in Scorpio positioned on cusp of 5th and 6th moving counterclockwise toward Ascendant representing eastern horizon. Plus Saturn in 2nd hits ASC causing extended storm periods.

When we examine the Aries Ingress Chart set for San Francisco, we would expect the Grand Fire Trine to mean dry, warmer weather but...
Mercury is stationing to turn direct on March 25th and in Pisces for precipitation
(the effect of stationing Mercury, Venus or Mars is negative whether direct or retrograde - expect heavy rains on 3-25/26.
Mercury applying toward close meeting with Uranus: always means sudden changes, major storms, erratic northwesterly wind gusts, descending cold air..and with hard aspect to Mars (in Gemini) gale force winds.

3rd Anniversary of the Iraq War - Expanding the Debt/Death Limit

As we move close to the third anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, even experienced military experts like Lt. Gen. William E. Odom are calling it "the greatest strategic disaster in American history." With a new $92 billion war funding bill destined to breeze thru the House, the financial cost of the Iraq war to over $400 billion. The cost in human life is incalculable and with the planet of death and massive transformation, Pluto in exact Square to the Sun (vitality and purpose) tomorrow realization will finally
began to set in deeply.

I have mentioned a few times before that Pluto, lord of death, enters the Galactic Center this month towards a station retrograde on March 29th Solar Eclipse marks the turning point. Many will perish around the world. We have all become the trancelike audience enumerated by the Sabian Symbol for 19* Neptune in Aquarius: "A rapt audience watches, as a great actor, rehearses the final scene of Macbeth. There is no set the audience can clearly visualize the burning castles in the background." Now is the time to use our imagination to undo the destructive passions and power lust inherent in a few over confident madmen who would rather devastate the world for sake of their beliefs.

Our physical condition as a nation has been heavily restricted by the alliances made in the middle east mainly Iraq. Looking closer it becomes apparent that with Mars, Chiron and Neptune transiting the 2nd house of supply and demand and GNP - our commerce and the debt we owe has been attacked, wounded and we are living in a world of illusion (Neptune). Sun and Mercury have progressed into militant Aries from
Pisces when the war started. Both our national identity (Sun) and means of communication-media (Mercury) are lost in the violent impulse to wage war merging with our living conditions (4th). By the end of May both Sun-Mercury will have conjuncted the N Node in Aries as Bush today reiterated the strike-first policy or the doctrine of preemption Highly aggressive! Highly Insane!

Just Like Evo on Rice - Coca Charango Plays on an AstroAnalysis

Despite all the jokes about Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice being the Wicked Witch of the East which are probably true, Condi is having an expansive year travelling extensively as transiting Jupiter in Scorpio has been crossing her 9th house of foreign relations. Today she met with Bolivian President Evo Morales, the first indigenous leader of Boliva and many were wondering if Evo would be the Munchkins, or the "little people." Most journalists expected tensions to destroy the first meeting of these two intense, competetive Scorpios from opposite ends of the political spectrum, Condi born 11-14-1954 at 11:30 AM in Birmingham, AL and Evo on 10-26-1959 but in Oruro, Boliva (no time given). Actually this was more of meeting of the minds then anyone could realize with an interesting mutual reception of ego identity with mental pursuits. Eclipse Season Begins -Will Intuitiion and Flashes of Genius Lead Us Out of the Mire?

On March 14, 2006 the first of a pair of spring Eclipses occurs. Yes this Full Moon Appulse Lunar - known as a "penumbral lunar eclipse" should shake things up. Despite limited visibility will in only parts of Europe and Africa, there will be a profound effect felt across the globe. Even though most people will not consider the event dramatic since the Moon moves through only the Earth's penumbra and is only slightly dimmed, incredible potential is here. Discoveries and revelations have already begun. Will these and other future discoveries be enough to help the average person into a higher quality of life?

This Lunar Eclipse known as Saros Series # L(lunar) 113 is member of a family of eclipses - SS 8 North which is noted for "Intuitive flashes of brillance are hallmark of Saros Series. The individual will have intuitive leaps, insights, good idas, visions or vivid dreams..." per Bernadette Brady the expert. It appears that the news is reporting one incredible discovery after another:

• NASA's Cassini spacecraft may have found evidence of liquid water reservoirs that erupt in Yellowstone-like geysers on Saturn's moon Enceladus.
  
• The recently discovered rodent species from Southeast Asia, scientists believe is part of the Diatomydae family of rodents had been extinct for 11 million years
  
• Marine biologists have discovered a crustacean in the South Pacific that resembles a lobster or crab covered in what looks like silky fur.
  
• On 2-7-06: An international team of scientists says it has found a "lost world" in the Indonesian jungle that is home to dozens of new animal and plant species
  

Brady continues to describe this Eclipse family: "The new found inspiration will pull the person away from his or her social life or relationship, thus causing a strain on his private life." Well it appears that our paragon of inspiration has another darker side. With the Moon undergoing a darkening just a few minutes after the Full Moon, symbolically women and the public are being kept in the dark as they reach out for hidden truths on this planet.
The Sun at 24° 15' will mark a critical period of transformation as the Moon is obscured by the Earth's shadow - our emotional bonds, issues with mother or mothering and women's issues will be vulnerable. The Sabian Symbol for 25 Pisces: "A purging of the priesthood." echoes the death throes of the Piscean age where religion itself along with it's representatives must change. Reformation is the key word. A recent report surfaced how the Irish government is investigating 100 Dublin priests suspected of child sex abuse.
With Pluto (the planet of destruction, power and transformation) thrown into the mix via a TSQ to Sun-Moon - this is a time of regeneration along with life threatening issues adding to major revelations.
Our Lunar Eclipse has the Moon @ 24°20' Virgo will have a lot to do with respect, reputation and service sporting the Sabian Symbol: "A flag at half-mast in front of a large public building." Will we as a society be able to honor sustainable movements that offer transcendance over selfhood, just as we honor our dead troops? As the moon applies toward a TSQ with Pluto, the issue of power used recklessly to destroy not promote life will be recognized. Most Americans now want the troops to leave Iraq immediately and the polls indicate approval ratings for Bush/Cheney are literally being jetissoned into dark, murky waters. As Victor Thorn of WingTV.net says: "Dick Cheney’s approval ratings are now lower than O.J. “The Decapitator” Simpson’s. Only 18% of Americans give Dick “I’m Drunk When I Hunt” Cheney a favorable nod."
Of course there is more to say about this Eclipse and it's brother a Total Solar Eclipse on March 29, 2006 @ 8° 32' Aries which will really push the envelope. The March 29, 2006 eclipse will be discussed in Part Two.

Where the Soli-lunar axis hits at 2nd and 8th house telling of major adjustments economically as the SF Bay Area, South Bay and North Bay will have to create a more sustainable living pattern with the rising/descendant @ 24° Leo/Aquarius in 150 degree aspect (Quincunx) the eclipse degrees. Perhaps the ability for large groups of people to serve the greater good in healing efforts (Venus/Chiron in 6th house public servants).

Exciting, Controversial Oscar Night with Stewart along with Venus Ingress into Aquarius

We live in emotionally charged times and a world of polarized beliefs so this 78th Annual Academy Awards or "the Oscars" is anticipated to be a happy interlude. Yes with scandals and craziness swirling around amid enviromental disasters, the general public hopes Sacred Oscar Night will be devoid of our current obsessive political atmosphere. A brief preview of tomorrow night does show lots of excitment and thrills with the red carpet inception having 22* Leo rising time (see chart below). "A bareback rider in the circus thrills excited crowds." is the Sabian interpretation for the Ascendant.
PREDICTIONS: Helped by the collective energy of Aquarian and Piscean planets, Crash the movie that deals with racism from an honest perspective will win best picture. Heath Ledger will win best actor for Brokeback Mountain. Felicity Huffman best actress for Transamerica. For Supporting actor I am giving the nod to George Clooney in Syriana. Rachel Weisz will win best supporting actress for The Constant Gardener.

An amazingly quick-witted Sagittarian Jon Stewart (Jonathan Stewart Liebowitz) hosting this year's gala should provide an entertaining respite from the worlds's problems? Or will there be plenty of controversial refrences? I think so! Allusions to Brokeback Mountain, Syriana and of course the best picture of the year Crash. Venus along with Neptune is one of two planets that are always associated with Hollywood fashion,romance, artistic endeavor, glamour and dreams. Venus on the lower octave deals with more with adornment, amusement, art, beauty, femininity, desire and relationships on the sexual level (Tinsel Town is obsessed with celebrity love affairs).

Venus Changes Signs - Will It Upset the Oscar Goodie Bag?
Even with the Oscar's chart's ruler the Sun known for heroes and a world ruled by the solar, the evidence of Piscean planets even in Stewart's chart will add to an illusionary feel tomorrow.
At 3:39AM on the day of the Academy Awards Venus enters Aquarius ruled by Uranus the bringer of the unexpected and seeker of freedom for all humanity not just the privileged few even if it means revolutionary activity. Moving from a much more conservative, staid Capricorn period(extended witha retrograde on 12-24-05 at 1*27' Aquarius)into the sign of the water bearer can mean emotions need to be releashed. Neptune now in the collective sign of Aquarius signifies glamour, illusion, mystery, drugs the boulevard of dreams transcending our ordinary everyday lives. Never before in history have so many people paid homage to movie stars or should I say worshipped at their altars?
Neptune is the higher octave of Venus and has a strong influence being in 90* aspect to Jupiter stationing retrograde in Scorpio. That sweet allure and confidence that is represented by both planets working well together has tremendous potential - but this square makes for self-indulgence and time-wasting cloudy visions. Now with Mercury (our mental orientation) retrograde in Pisces many of the participants may be unable to see clearly through those mists and inner fogs. It should be noted that the ruler of Scorpio Pluto is still in close SQ to Mercury. Thus there will be an obsessive aura along with a bit of tunnel vision since Mercury is in Neptune ruled Pisces retrograde and ready to repeat messages again and again.

Moving into this glitzy mix is the self-depracting comedian (Leo N Node) with amazing abiity turn a phrase quickly with Sun/Mercury in Sagittarius. Jon Stewart manages to adhere to the old H L Mencken adage of "afflicting the comfortable and comforting the afflicted" without ever sounding affected or condescending. With Jon's N Node in close opposition to Oscar's Night's newly arrived quirky Venus, probably means that he will go after silly foibles of the Oscar institution rather then focus on political targest like Jay Bennish the HS teacher suspended for exercising his constitutional right of free speech. Stewart says: " I'm not an anarchist. I'm a comedian."
Jon Stewart's Sun (core identity) and his Mercury (communication skills) will oppose the Moon and Mars in Gemini adding to his reticence to push the envelope initially. Most of the celebrities that attend this gratuitous affair have probably never sat in for an entire Daily Show on Comedy Central. We will not be without action since Stewart's planet of drive and energy Mars @ 20* Leo is TSQ both Neptune and Jupiter for a humorous expose of the Academy's love of scandals and elitist snobbery. Also his unique need for freedom Uranus @ 5*Virgo will manifest as a satirically clever analysis of the situation with a SQ to the Moon and Mars in Gemini riding high in the career house. One thing is for sure words will be like weapons that cut ever so defly thru the world of big time flim entertainment.

Pisces New Moon 2006 - a New Cycle of Water Brings, Deluge, Misplaced Devotion and Imagination

By the time you read this, you will have noticed this lunar cycle isn't like anything else we have experienced. If you live here on the West Coast, it means extended period of stormy weather looming ahead bringing rain, floods and high winds (clocked at over 75mph). Water is the primary element for this Neptune ruled Piscean New Moon 2-28-2006 at 12:31AM set for UTC time or 7:30PM EST on 2-27-06. Maybe I should say water and oil since everything dealing with petroleum and it's production will also dominate the news for the next month. The Water Wars or is it Water Worries will start in earnest - per example this article about Queensland Mayor who ponders flood-drought irony when even torrential rains have not helped. Or this article dealing with drought about western and southern Europe on track to experience a suumer like that of 2003. Dry winter points way to summer drought for Europe.

Morales was scheduled to die tonight at 7:30PM and the doctors themselves were unable to comply with U.S. District Court Judge Jeremy Fogel's specific, set procedures involving a qualified medical professional in the execution chamber to ensure that Morales was unconscious before the potentially painful drugs ( massive dose of the barbiturate sodium pentothal) were administered. In fact Fogel required that injected directly into Morales' vein, rather than flow through an intravenous tube from outside the death chamber, Previous lethal injections have been administered by prison staffers through tubes connected to a machine that would administer the fatal dose. Now we would need a medically certified professional (indicative of the 6/12 house axis that Pisces/Virgo operate). Well as we all know a monkey wrench was thrown into the proceedings as State officials rejected the his conditions and said they would instead ask Fogel to reinstate the procedure used in California's 11 previous lethal injections. Sodium pentothal is administered under that procedure to render a prisoner unconscious, and two other drugs paralyze his muscles and stop his heart. A hearing on the request will not be held until May, and Morales' execution cannot be rescheduled until after Fogel rules.

Mercurial types are considered just a little more clever then the rest of us or at least their mental process seem to work a bit faster. Gemini (ruled by Mercury) usually seems clever or more fascile with words or Virgo, able to concentrate their thoughts into massive analysis or reasearch projects. Now that Mercury has entered Aquarius, where the Messenger of the Gods is at its highest function, we all seem to be thinking at warp speed. Yet this evening at 8:50PM PST or 11:50PM EST at 3º 55' Aquarius we have the first encounter. This meeting will be repeated a few times as Chiron transits thru Aquarius till 2010. Yes in Aquarius, the tendency to transcend mundane thought patterns dominates and this position of Mercury strengthens the intellect and can provide inventive ideas for the collective. One thing to not though is that with any Chironic contact there are problems. Contacts of Mercury to Chiron create an atmosphere for the archtypical Trickster ala Hermes - the son of Zeus and Maia of Greek legend. This connection is about reveling in either mischief making or demonstrate phenomenal abiliities to communicate. Even a compulsive need to communicate in multiple forms takes shape. Not just traditional oratory, writing but with music or mime.

Musicians like Jimi Hendrix, Pablo Casals with Chrion SQ Mercury or Maria Callas who had Chiron trine Mercury and also the ability ot learn several languages all epitomized totally original techniques to help their listners move beyond ordinary reality. Unfortunately, 20th century history gave us villans like Joseph Goebbels with Mercury cojoined Chiron in Scorpio, who was Hitler's Minister of Propaganda. Goebbels eventually commited suicide when the Nazi empire finally fell apart. My guess is that Mercury conjunct Chiron can indicate a certain prediliction for media manipulation if not supported by other aspects. Sun Meets Chiron in Aquarius - Finding the Healing Fountain

Today January 23, 2006 at 3:18PM PST or 12:18PM EST the solar masculine principle of individuality and purpose met the maverick planet/asteroid Chiron and collective wounds became apparent. With Chiron touching the Sun ruler of Leo in personal charts, the "dark side of the sun" or as I call it "the heart of darkness" is revealed. Generally we find that persons with Sun-Chiron connections that play out in distinct modes: first they either prefer to live their lives vicarously basking in the bright light of others with a tendency to discount their self worth. On the other hand, they may adopt a narcissistic or egomaniacal attitude taking on the center of attention and admiration but not really enjoying the recogniton. Interestingly, GW Bush has a Chiron/Libra SQ to his Sun in Cancer thus desires to control others by the use of laws which push nationalism to the extreme. Of course it is not all about dominant, controlling or destructive behavior with Sun/Chiron in the chart - there is positive side where qualities of creativity, strong leadership, and magnaminity can be present. Thursday has always held a special connection to the King of the Gods whether he was known as Thor, Jove or Zeus. Traditionally Thursday was the fifth-day of the week and Thor was the God of Thunder hence the day also being known a 'Thunderday'. Ray Nagin timed MLK ceremonies (has his own power issues with a Jupiter/Pluto conjunction SQ Saturn -Authority)to stridently offered his own beliefs and truth which elicited a confused and angry reaction. He brought in the supreme authority along with the Ares agressive stance, "God is mad at America and at black communities", With Neptune in the mix and Venus retrograde, he was forced to retract his statement and even offer some redemption. We expect such spiritual arrogance from Pat Robertson who continually puts his smelly, corrupt foot (ruled by Pisces) in his mouth as he did with the "God smote Sharon" for divine retribution for the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. Those purgative images of lightening ready to strike the sinner are conjured by these remarks.
Scandalous Remarks Abound or Strong Statements Sting

This tape was filled with threats and offered a truce. This transmission came from a man who has been rumored be deceased and who hasn't been heard from since a December 27, 2004 audiotape in which he anointed Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Iraq's most wanted man, as al-Qaeda's leader in the war-torn country. Talk about savior/victim archetype filled with deception, the CIA created boogeyman spoke:
"We have no objection to offering you a long-term truce based on fair conditions that we will adhere to, because we are a nation that has been forbidden by God to backstab or lie," he said.
